My client who are a London based Financial Software company are looking for a unique individual to fill a unique role. The role is for a senior customer facing data scientist (CFDS) with direct industry experience to bridge the gap between the internal technical teams and the customer technical teams, both pre- and post-sale.

This role will suit a candidate with a world-class academic pedigree looking for a change in direction, perhaps at a mid-way point in their career. You will be joining a dynamic company that has rapidly achieved great strides in the financial software industry and are growing exponentially. It is an agile environment to work and joining at this point in their history would offer the opportunity to imprint your own style on the role and team. There is a lot of flexibility in the way that you do your job and you will have the support of 2 other Customer Facing Data Scientists who are already at the business.

You will ideally have an HFT/market microstructure background.

 

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

• The role is highly varied. The following activities give a flavour of the tasks:

• Writing Python Jupyter notebooks to implement scientific papers to show to customers

• Regular communication with existing customer scientists, encouraging use of the platform with demos and showing-off new capabilities.

• Quickly and efficiently understanding customer needs and pain points.

• Attending customer sales meetings when customer scientists will be present. Taking the technical lead in those meetings.

• Speaking at conferences, both in the UK and internationally

• Your time will be split roughly on 50% on R&D related activities, 50% on customer facing activities. You will be coding and reading scientific papers 85% of your time. You will be reporting directly to the CEO.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE – REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must have:

• At least five years in a tier 1 algorithmic trading research role

• Post-doc, PhD degree in a STEM subject

• Strong Python programming skills

• Strong communication skills

Up to £150,000 depending on experience and current earnings.
