IT ENGINEER – 2nd Line
My client is a cloud-based business looking to use the cloud as much as possible. They aim to use the cloud to deliver desktop services to their staff and are seeking to hire an individual who comes from this background.
They are looking for a passionate IT engineer to support the office environment. Their team of software engineers and data scientists use Linux and cloud services extensively, so managing those will be a key part of the role. The company is growing rapidly so building scaleable solutions using deployment services is essential.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Build and maintain an image server for Linux and Windows, to deploy up to date images across the office network.
• Purchasing, deploying and maintaining the office network of Windows, Linux and osX workstations, laptops, printers & scanners.
• Supporting the users and solving problems.
• Security of the IT environment: managing Active Directory users and groups, ensuring workstations are up to date with patches and AV software, administering remote access (Duo, Barracuda), managing root passwords (Lastpass)
• Maintaining TVs & Video Conferencing (Skype, Multivoice, Webex, G-hangouts, Chime)
• Maintaining all the on-premise infrastructure, including UPS, network switches & cabling, VOIP phones, wifi, ISP, CCTV.
• Root ownership and maintenance of a large number of e-platforms and providers, for example: o Atlassian (JIRA and Confluence) o Communications (Slack, G-Suite) o Social media (Twitter, G+, Facebook, Linkedin, Hootsuite) o Domains and certificates (Global sign) o Public website (wpengine, Capeeshe) o IDEs (Mathworks, PyCharm) o Business intelligence (pipedrive, xero, bloomberg, reuters eikon)
MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS
The requirements for the role are:
• Two to three years’ experience in a similar role, such as 2nd-line support analyst, in a technology company of between 30 and 300 staff
• Hands on experience of Linux desktop e.g. Ubuntu or Fedora
NICE TO HAVE REQUIREMENTS
• AWS
• Microsoft Active Directory
• Advanced networking experience, for example DNS and VPN configuration
• Degree in a STEM subject

• Up to £50,000 plus stock options and a range of excellent benefits
